My Season

Today I had one of those days. One of those days that feels like it's never going to end. One of those days that feels like I am drowning in laundry and dishes and toys, and one of those days that I wish my children could just be older and more independent. But at the end of the day, when they are both sleeping peacefully (and I can breathe) I am reminded of my season. My 2nd mom, Ruth, always taught me that we go throughout life in different seasons. Right now I am in a messy and wild season. A season that consists of diapers, tantrums, tears, peanut butter that gets everywhere, negotiating endlessly with a toddler, and so many other little frustrating things. I am also in a season that is full of love, laughter, smiles, endless fun, toys, and happy memories. Yes, some days are SO hard and SO long, But I wouldn't trade it for anything! I just want to hold onto my little ones as long as I can while they are young. Because too soon they won't be little anymore. So while I am in this season, I am going to try my best to appreciate everything; the hard things as well.

They love each other!

Thumbs up is hard to do while smiling :)
Aliyah loves dressing up

I am in the best season right now. Blessed with two beautiful and healthy girls and a wonderful and supportive husband. I don't know how these two little girls can be so frustrating when they are so beautiful! :) They sure do have a tight hold on my heart.

Catch Up!

Oh boy, we have a lot to catch up on! I guess for starters, we had the most adorable little bugs for Halloween! We dressed Aliyah up as a ladybug and Kailey was a bumblebee. Jake's school (Air Force Institute of Technology) had a fun trick or treating activity for the family and we brought our girls and got to see where Jake spends his days.

We had the missionaries over for a fun Halloween dinner! Cody and Maddie ate with us too! We had zombie hair and witches fingers and roasted zombie eyeballs for dinner and then we had caramel apples. It was so much fun!

It has been fun having the missionaries in our home. They bring such a wonderful spirit with them. We have been able to have a couple of lessons taught in our home with a recent convert. We were able to attend his baptism this past Saturday. It was an incredible opportunity for our family as it has caused us to reflect on our own testimonies and what we believe. I am so grateful for the knowledge of the gospel and God's love for us. It is such a blessing to our family.
Haha, Kailey's face!

Here is a little update on our family. The girls LOVE playing with each other! Kailey is 5 months old now and she is getting better at sitting up. We have started feeding her food! She loves peas and pears the best. She loves to smile and giggle and we couldn't imagine life without her, she brings so much joy to our little family! Aliyah is getting to be more and more fun! She loves playing outside and loves to help mommy do the chores. She is such a good big sister and loves to help take care of Kailey. We are loving it at our new home as we are settling in and getting to know our neighbors and ward members.
